Connecticut regulators have issued cease-and-desist orders to Robinhood, Kalshi, and Crypto.com for allegedly operating illegal sports betting services without state licenses. The Department of Consumer Protection claims these platforms violated gambling laws by offering prediction markets to Connecticut residents.

The companies argue their CFTC-regulated status places them under federal jurisdiction, but Connecticut joins New York and Massachusetts in challenging this interpretation. This enforcement wave signals growing state-level scrutiny of crypto-adjacent prediction markets.
